Rose Tree Tavern Renovation

Visitors Bureau Getting Historic New Home

The historic Rose Tree Tavern is being renovated and will serve as the office of Delaware County’s Brandywine Conference and Visitors Bureau in 2011. The building dates back to 1739 and over the years it was owned by various families and innkeepers and also served as the first meeting place of the Rose Tree Hunt Club, where the fox hunt patrons met and steeplechase races were held. The move will put the visitors bureau in the center of Delaware County where it can be a resource for everyone. It will give the bureau the capability to be open in the evenings during Delaware County’s Rose Tree Summer Festival, as well as during the many other significant events in Rose Tree Park throughout the year.
